An easily misunderstood, young-hearted, retired misfit. He’ll grow on ya.

I believe different generations hold the keys to living a better life. I’m not sure how we’ve become so separated but I want to help bring us back together, I want to mingle, mentor, and ask for advice.

Hey Bucko! is an idea I found reading The Fourth Turning by William Strauss and Neil Howe. The book isn’t for everyone, but it opened my eyes to how the pattern of each generation affects the other. The book explains a constant battle over individualism and Civility and it is fascinating if you like that sort of thing.

I’ve seen grandparents teach children to use their imagination and I’ve seen children teach grandparents how to use a tablet. This seems backwards to me but that’s what I see.

Challenge:

If you lack clear focus there are no better people to talk to than those who have finished a full career. If you lack creativity, a generation below you will have lots to offer over a cup of coffee or juice. I dare you this week to be curious with your elders and youngsters.

Invite one for a drink and ask them questions.
